CAMARINES NORTE –The National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST PHL), in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Office V and PSTC Camarines Norte, will conduct the first episode for this year’s ScienTeach: A Virtual Symposium for the Youth in Camarines Norte on March 28, 2022, at 9:00 AM via Zoom with a live broadcast on the social media accounts of NAST PHL, DOST RO5, and PSTC Camarines Norte.
The event will be moderated by Dr. Victor Marco Emmanuel N. Ferriols, an alumna of 2021 Future Science Leader Forum. Three (3) notable scientists are invited to the symposium as resource speakers to share their knowledge and experiences in their respective fields of expertise, they are Academician Windell R. Rivera, an expert in molecular diagnostics and epidemiology, molecular protozoology, and medical biotechnology; Dr. Arnold R. Salvacion, an environmental scientist and 2021 Outstanding Young Scientist awardee; and Dr. Marvin A. Villanueva, a veterinary science researcher and also a 2021 Outstanding Young Scientist.
The ScienTeach or virtual Symposium for the Youth started in the year 2020 in partnership with the DOST Regional Offices as a coping mechanism of NAST when the pandemic strikes. ScienTeach is a collection of episodes that highlights varying topics featuring National Scientists, NAST Members, and its awardees. Its objectives are to promote science and technology, bring our scientists closer to the youth, and inspire and encourage the students to pursue a career in science.
