Capping this year’s series of Regional Scientific Meetings, the National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST PHL), in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Offices Visayas Cluster led by DOST Region VIII (Eastern Visayas), convened scientists, policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, local government officials, and development stakeholders for the 2026 Visayas Regional Scientific Meeting (RSM) on 3-4 June 2026 at the Summit Hotel, Tacloban City, Leyte.

In an effort to amplify female leadership in science and technology, the Special Committee for Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) of the Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia (AASSA), supported by grant funding from the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP), has officially released its introductory volume spotlighting 49 extraordinary women scientists across 14 Asian nations.
Titled "Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Advancing SDGs in Asia", the book was formally launched during the 58th Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST) International Symposium and the 4th AASSA-WISE Symposium held at the JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square in Seoul, Korea on 28 May 2026 which was livestreamed globally and archived for public access.

The 2026 Luzon Regional Scientific Meeting (RSM) successfully convened on 7–8 April 2026 in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, with hybrid participation via Zoom and Facebook Live. Anchored on the theme “UN SDGs: Science, Technology, and Innovation for Sustainable Development,” the two-day event brought together scientists, policymakers, and stakeholders to advance evidence-based solutions toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This event was organized by the National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST PHL), in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Offices Luzon Cluster led by DOST - National Capital Region.
