The National Academy of Science and Technology, with its National Scientists, Academicians, Corresponding members and Secretariat, and recognized experts, is one with the State in the recognition of the importance of women in nation-building.

Through its vision of an inclusive national development, the NAST promotes women empowerment and continues to pursue equal opportunities for women, men, and all genders in all its activities and policy recommendations, propelled by science, technology, and innovation. The NAST Gender and Diversity Program aids the Academy in achieving this vision, spearheaded by the GAD Focal Persons: Academician Agnes C. Rola and Academician Edward H.M. Wang.

In 2022, the total percentage of GAD expenditure from the total agency budget is 43.24% as reflected in its 2022 GAD Accomplishment Report through the programs, projects and activities implemented through GAD, and through the attribution from NAST’s flagship program: Promotion and Recognition of Scientific and Technical Achievements.
